Did a one night for dinner with friends in Atlanta. The Intercontinental has some special August rates that were great for such a quality hotel. I don't know how the star rating actually works because I've stayed at some marginal 4 stars, but the Intercontinental Buckhead was definitely a 5 star on my list. Beautiful, great rooms, decor, very nice outdoor pool on the second level, located right in the best shopping and dining areas of Buckhead. Anybody who didn't like this hotel has a problem. I've stayed in many hotels and would put this one at the top, especially for the great rate. I've heard some parking complaints, but I was very satisfied. They charge $* per night for self parking with a personal parking card that gave me unlimited in and out access without any hassle. Secure garage and easy access to hotel.

This is a great hotel in a great location. The rooms were clean and well stocked, staff was nice and the location is great. It is a short walk to Lenox shopping area and some good restaurants. I just was kinda disappointed that they charged extra for self parking since they seemed to have a lot, although that's not the first time I've paid for self parking at a hotel. Overall we had a great experience.
